Burglary Suspect Arrested After Foot Chase

ATHENS-On June 23, 2024, Deputy Uziel Vazquez responded to the 19000 block of East Limestone Rd. on report of a burglary. Upon arrival, he observed forced entry to the residence and learned that the victim was home at the time of the incident.
The offender fled on foot before his arrival, leaving his vehicle behind. Deputy Vazquez identified the offender as Robert Carlton Holland. Deputy Vazquez began to search the area for the offender and spotted him attempting to leave in his truck. When the offender spotted Deputy Vazquez, he exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Deputy Vazquez found him hiding behind a tree and was able to take him into custody without incident.
Robert Carlton Holland, 52, of Athens, AL, was arrested for Burglary 2nd Degree and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement. Holland is held in the Limestone County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
