LEIGHTON- Leighton Police were able to gain information that was very beneficial in assisting police in making arrests in a number of burglaries in Leighton and the surrounding area. According to Brandon Hood, Police Chief of the Leighton Police Department the investigation is on going. Hood said there has been five burglaries in Leighton over the past three weeks, three residences and two businesses have been casualties in these robberies. Chief Hood said several of the items taken from the burglaries have been recovered.
The following suspects have been arrested and charged:
Denauris Qualls 18, of Leighton, was arrested and charged with 4 counts of Burglary in the third degree, 2 counts of Theft of Property in the first degree, and 2 counts of Theft of Property in the third degree and placed in Colbert Co Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Antonairo Perkins 18, of Leighton, was also arrested and charged with 2 counts of Burglary in the third degree and 2 counts of Theft of Property in the first degree and was placed in Colbert Co Jail on $20,000 bond.
Christina Bolding 27, of Florence was also arrested and charged with 1 count of
Receiving Stolen Property in the second degree and placed in Colbert Co Jail on a $1000 bond.
There was also another suspect involved who is being charged in these cases as well. This person is a 14 year old juvenile and has been charged with two counts of third degree burglary and two counts of first degree theft of property. He is being held in custody of juvenile authorities.
