Buddy E. Somers, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed into the loving arms of Jesus Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 82. Buddy was retired from Reynolds Metals Company as an electrical engineer. He was a member of the YMCA Morning Coffee Club, the Thursday Morning ROMEOs, and a former Shepherd at Magnolia Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at Magnolia Church of Christ. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church building. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Grant Azbell.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, General and Pearl Somers; and sister, Hazel Somers Miles.
He is survived by his wife, Trecia Daily Somers; son, Chris Somers (Tracie); daughter, Cindy Burgess (Steve); grandchildren, Whitney Harrison (Grant), Chelsea Scott (Colton), Alex Somers, Jackson Somers (Sharon), Sarah Joy Lee (Hunter), and Grace Somers; great-grandchildren, Millie, Wallace and Edith Harrison; Raleigh and Everett Scott; Vivian and Parker Somers; and Madeline Lee.
Pallbearers will be Mark Tomlinson, Trent Tomlinson, Miles Mathis, Chad Butler, Russell Daily, and Cade Beavers.
Honorary pallbearers are Magnolia Shepherds past and present, Gary Shannon, Walter Patterson, and Joel Corneleson.
