Bud Lee Reeves

Bud Lee Reeves, 94, of Huntsville passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. Born in Ecru, MS he moved to the Delta and attended high school in Gunnison, MS before joining the Army. Bud served in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam before retiring in 1968. After one year with Bell Helicopter, he spent the next 21 years as a Civil Servant with the Army before retiring for the second time.

Bud met his wife, Barbara Romasser, New Years Eve 1952 on a blind date in Okinawa, Japan and they were married the following Christmas. They were married for 68 years at the time of her death in 2021.

He is survived by his son, Howard Reeves and wife, Julie; daughter, Dianne Harrison and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Tim and Katie Reeves and their mother, Sandy Reeves and sister, Janie Slawson. He was preceded in death by his wife; his father, Bertie Reeves; mother, Clara Reeves; and sister, Anne Masterson.

He was very active in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites and the Shriners. Bud was a 33rd Degree Mason and past Master of his Lodge in Collinsville, IL. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Award and also served as the presiding officer of the John M. Pearson Chapter of Rose Croix, a York Rite Mason and a member of the Ainad Shrine (Shriners).

Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, MS.
