Brynda Sue Johnson, 84, of Cherokee, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 10 am until 12 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Wade Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hester Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
Brynda was a registered nurse for over 40 years, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Billy” William Johnson; son, Gregory “Scotty” Johnson; parents, Rex and Pauline Rutherford; and sister, Barbara Ann Prather.
Brynda is survived by her children, Theresa Diane McWilliams (Bryan), Charla “Susy” Susette Nichelson (Keith), and William “Brad” Bradley Johnson (Tallie); sister, Norma Faye Metzler; and grandsons, Jordan and Josh Nichelson, Will and Tanner Johnson, and Tucker McWilliams.
The family expresses a special thanks to Hospitality House Personal Care, especially Minnie Rupledge, Chasity Alley, and Debbie Melton, Gentiva Hospice nurses, Jessica and Brittany, and her caregivers, Lyndsey and Britney.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
