Bryan Lee Williams, 76, of Athens, died Monday, September 23, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Williams was born December 27, 1942, in Marshall County, Alabama.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Athens, and he served as a deacon. He was retired from Colsa Corporation, a U.S. Air Force Veteran and active in Boy Scouts of American Leadership.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Hughes officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service at the church.
Spry Funeral Home in Athens assisted the family.
Gideon’s of Madison County and Boy Scouts Troop 240 & Pack 24 will be honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include wife, Cathy Mitchum Williams of Athens; son, Bryan Lee Williams Jr. of Athens; daughter, Katie Lynn Williams of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren, Asher Lee Williams and Layla Elise Williams; mother-in-law, Velma Mitchum of Athens; brothers, Joe Scott Williams of Montevallo, Alabama, and Michael (Nancy) Hugh Williams of Guntersville, Alabama; sister, Peggy Ann Williams of Birmingham, Alabama; brother-in-law, Richard (Christi) Allen Mitchum of Chesapeake, Virginia; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International or Emmanuel Baptist Church.
