Funeral services for Ms. Brooksie Wheeler, age 93, are scheduled for 4:00pm Monday, January 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with burial to follow the next day in Huntsville Memory Gardens, Huntsville, AL.. Ms. Wheeler passed away Saturday morning in Alabama. She was retired child care worker for Madison County AL. School system. Ms. Wheeler was born January 9, 1928 in Henderson County to the late F. Lindsey and Willie Mae Gilliam Lindsey. She was preceded in death by husband- Sammy Wheeler, 4 brothers- Paul Lindsey, Jimmy Lindsey, Logan Lindsey and Bobby Lindsey, 4 sisters- Louise Bowman, Gracie Middleton, Sue Lindsey and Jo Cagle and one grandson- Logan Duke; Survivors include one daughter- Yolanda Duke (Kevin), one sister- Shirley Jordan, three grandchildren- Justin Duke (Kendall), Katelyn Duke and Olivia Duke.

I knew Miss Brooksie when she was a nursery worker at West Huntsville Baptist Church. My children loved her so much they minded her! She was very caring for at least one homeless person who needed a bit of help with laundry. She was a kind and gentle person.
