Britney Leigh Deaton, age 25 of Cherokee, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Her family will receive friends Friday 6-9 at Morrison Funeral Home of Cherokee. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Steve Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Britney was a Colbert County native and a member of Barton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents Roger and Thresa Deaton, brother, Nicky Deaton; sisters, Heather Cox Hardy and Lisa Deaton; grandparents, Eulene Thomason and the late Owen Dean Thomason and Edna Deaton and the late Harvey Deaton, nieces, Abigail Barber, Makenzie Phelps; nephews, Will and Tucker Hardy and Braxton Phelps; special cousins and babies, Caylee, Luke and Haystin Thompson, Isaiah Sparks and Alivia McCormack.
Pallbearers are William Nolen, Scott Murphy, Channing Thompson, Brandon Deaton, Justin Deaton, Wade Baker, Gary Montgomery, and Jeremy Huston.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie Thompson and Jacob Hellums
