Briston “Bid” Lee Lacy

“Bid” Lee Lacy, age 43, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

 

His body will lie in state on Monday, July 5, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Herb Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Tennessee Army National Guard. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on November 27, 1977, in Columbia, Briston was the son of David Lee Lacy and Vera Collins Brown. He attended Columbia Central High School and earned his Associates Degree in computer science from ITT Technical Institute. He served in the Army National Guard and worked seven years as a truck driver. He was baptized at an early age in the Church of Christ.

 

A mentor to many people, Briston cared for others before himself. He was very intelligent, did a lot of research, and knew a lot about history, politics, and the Bible. He cared a lot about his appearance, and it was important to him that he always dressed nice. He enjoyed music, entertainment, and live concerts.

 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Latisha Lacy of Garden City, MI, sisters, Terrica Hawkins of Columbia, TN, Nakiya (Eddie) Norman of Columbia, TN, grandfather, Howard Johnson of Columbia, TN, aunts and uncles, Jeannie (Cubie) Hunt, Kim (Herb) Davis, Margaret (Hayward) Jones, Bobby Lacy, Willie (Janice) Lacy, Jr., James Collins, great aunts and great uncles, Virginia Mitchell, Shirley Collins, Ray (Faye) Collins, too many devoted friends to name, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marie Lymon, Lenora & Willie B. Lacy, Sr., aunts, Katherine Collins, Elaine Frierson, and uncle, Johnnie Collins.

 

Pallbearers will be Roderick Jones, Frankie Walker, Avery Walker, Forease Collins, Julian Lacy, and Jamaal Collins. Honorary pallbearers will include, Ken Porter, Quin Porter, James Holt, Nathan Roberts, Cubie Hunt, Jr., Delvin Frierson, and Keydrian Lawrence. Flower girls will include cousins and friends.
