Brick Raper Brian Allen “Brick” Raper, 42, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. Born August 9, 1980, in Panama City, Florida, he was the son of Billy Ray Raper and Brenda Raper. He attended school at Mooreville. He was employed at Roadrunner Automotive Service Center as a wrecker driver, a job he took very seriously. After leaving Panama City and Mooreville, he made Mantachie his home. He enjoyed car races, fishing, hunting, cutting grass, and being a member of the sandbar crew. He will be greatly missed by so many in Mantachie.

Funeral services honoring Brick’s life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at the Ozark Baptist Church with Bro. David “E.T.” Turner and Bro. Martin Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his parents, Brenda and Billy Ray Raper; his brother, Billy Lee Bennett Raper (Becky); sister, Christy Lee Spigner (Ben); and brother, Lane Smith, all of Mantachie; nieces, Hannah and Baylee Graham; nephews, Chanton and Grayson Spigner and Blake Smith; his second mom and dad, David and Carla Cates; and numerous aunts and uncles of Florida and Mississippi. Last but definitely not least, he is survived by his Roadrunner family, his Mantachie Volunteer Fire Department family, and a host of very close friends, both male and female, too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, great-grandparents, and his twink, Cyndal Cleveland.

Pallbearers will be Alex Kingsley, Shannon “Tiny” Evans, Max Campbell, Blake Buchanan, Corey Dill, and Drew Wagster. Honorary pallbearers will be Chanton Spigner, Grayson Spigner, and Jeff Malone.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, May 27, at the Ozark Baptist Church, 926 Ozark Baptist Church Road, Marietta, MSĀ  38856.
