Brent Swart, 70, of Laceys Spring, Alabama passed on June 15, 2024.
He was commissioned as a 2d Lieutenant/Ordnance Corps in the U.S. Army in August 1976. He rose to the rank of Colonel and retired in 2002 after serving as the Garrison Commander at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He later worked as a contractor supporting the Army mission at Redstone Arsenal and then transitioned to federal civil service, retiring after nearly 15 years.
Since then, his time has been spent enjoying life with his wife of 47 years, Chris, and their beloved dogs.
Visitation will be Friday, June 21, 2024 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A service with full military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local animal shelter of your choice.
