Funeral Services for Brenden Lee Karr, age 26 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Chaplain Mike Hankins and Bro. Jimmy Pruett officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Faith Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Karr was born in Chambers County but moved to Clay County when he was three years old. He had great pride in being in the National Guard in Alexander City from 2016 until 2019, he was in the 214th MP Company and earned a National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Medal. He began working with his Sister at Kelley’s Heating and Air in Dadeville, and eventually went to work at Casey Industrial as an Industrial Millwright, where he like to say he helped “build America”. Most recently, he worked at Cool Ray Heating and Air in Birmingham. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a part of the Hatchet Creek L.E.M.C Punishers. He also enjoyed doing anything that had to do with guns, whether it was buying them or going to the gun range on the weekends. He loved to hunt and would often take his nephews on hunting trips. He taught himself how to give tattoos and his work was detailed and exceptional. This also included his mechanic work, where he helped his brother build a 1994 379 Peterbilt. His family will always remember him as a great storyteller and hard headed, his nickname is affectionately known as “one time”, because all of the stories he would tell began with the phrase, “One Time.” If he set his mind up to do something he would, he loved helping people was larger than life and he never met a stranger but his greatest accomplishment was being an amazing father.

Mr. Karr was survived by his wife, Shyann Karr of Ashland; his children; Oakley Rhett and Ellie-Mae Grace Karr; His father, Jimmy Wayne Karr of Cragford and Mother, Nikki Karr of Chambers County and Jason and Stephanie Smith of Ashland; Sisters: Shalena Mitchell (Jeff) of Goldville, Claudiya Parsons (Jeremy) and Ashley Parsons (Nick), both of Ashland; Brothers: Martin Lamar Karr of Goldville, Justin Karr (Misti) of Ashland, and Tyler Karr (Allyssa Bullard) of Oxford; Aunts: Debra Siggers and Janet Grogan; seven nephews, six nieces, with one on the way; and a host of extended family.

Mr. Karr was preceded in death by his Grandmothers: Betty Karr, Nanny Shaw, and Nancy Spears “Gamma”; and one Brother, Martin Wayne Karr.

Active Pallbearers will be Martin Karr, Justin Karr, Tyler Karr, Jeremy Parsons, Payton Spears, Jeff Mitchell, and Jesse Garrett. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Cope, Nick Parsons, Trey Karr, Landyn Parsons, Gavin Mitchell, Easton Mitchell, and the Hatchett Creek L.E.M.C Punishers.

His visitation will take place on Wednesday February 28, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
