Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Troye Mooney, age 66, are scheduled for 3 PM, Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Pentecostal Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mooney passed away Tuesday in Lexington after battling cancer. She was born May 5, 1948 in Henderson County to the late Troy Hardin Elvington, Sr. and Leatha Pearl Powers Elvington. She was a retired inspector at MIG and a member of Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Fred Mooney; two brothers, Jimmy Thomas Elvington and Thomas Ray Elvington; and one grandson, Jeremy Lee Miller. Survivors include her two sons, Wayne Elvington of Selmer and Alvin Wesley Bailey (Heather Camper) of Darden; three stepsons, Tim Mooney and Jerry Mooney of Sardis, and Tracy (Sherry) Mooney of Selmer; one daughter, Brenda Darlene (Allen) Duncan of Wildersville; one stepdaughter, Debra Rowland of Sardis; two brothers, Raymond Elvington and Jr. Elvington of Lexington; two sisters, Linda Bailey of Reagan and Pearl Elvington of Sardis; seven grandchildren, Terry and Thomas Miller, Little Ray Elvington, Keesha Elvington, Kelsey Elvington, Jeff Elvington, and Katie Beth Bailey; and sixteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
