Brenda Kaye Owens Sullivan Brenda Sullivan was born June 9, 1948, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. She passed away in her home receiving hospice care (as was her wish). She leaves her grieving children, Michael Sullivan of Jackson, TN and Michelle Sullivan (Robert Gouge) of Cottontown, TN; her sister, Cyndi Owens Langhans of Hickory Valley, TN; and brother, Jim Owens (Ivy) of Tupelo, MS.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jim and “Gladdy” Owens of Jackson, TN; and grandparents, Winfred and “Cricket” Owens of Oak Ridge, TN (previously Memphis) and Howard and Edie Martin of Baltimore, MD.

Brenda was a happy child who enjoyed Girl Scouts, ballet, and tap dance. She was a former member of the Rainbow for Girls, Woodlawn Assembly #19 in Memphis and active member of Grimes Memorial United Methodist. She previously worked in healthcare at Virginia Beach and the VA hospital in Seattle. She was an employee of Belk, after moving to Jackson to be near her parents.

She will be sorely missed by her family. It is our wish to hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org/donate or by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of your choice.
