Brenda Sue Counts Bowers, age 66, of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 11-1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary with Bro. Guy Estave officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Brenda was a Colbert County native, retired from the IRS and was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she was the church pianist for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Polly Counts and brother, Wesley Counts.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, Billy Leon Bowers; daughter, Melissa Bowers Nelson (Michael); step-daughters, Lynn Bowers Vandiver (Daniel), Sharon Bowers Hopson (Michael); brother, Ray Counts (Linda); grandchildren, Tyler Henson (Tasha), Courtney Vandiver Raybon (Matt), Jay Vandiver; great-grandson, Jordan Tyler Henson; niece, Cindy Berry (Darrin); nephew, Kevin Counts (Tamra), and great-nephews, Cody and Brandon Berry.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Pallbearers will be family members.
