Brenda Nell Birdwell Barksdale passed away November 29, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Nana and Friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous and loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.
An informal come and go memorial services will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Elkview Church. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home assisting the family.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, the late Iran and Wynelle Miller Birdwell and her brother, Keith Birdwell.
Brenda was the beloved wife and best friend of Dan Roy Blankenship for 45 years. She was the mother of two sons, Brent Barksdale and wife, Jennifer and Jason Barksdale and wife, Heather. She had three grandsons, David, Paxton and Malachi; two granddaughters, Cheyanne and Reverie; two step-granddaughters, Sara and Emily.
