Funeral Services for Mrs. Brenda McCollum, age 77 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. Frank Sims officiating. Burial will follow at the Lineville City Cemetery.
Mrs. McCollum passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at her home. She was born in Talladega County, but was a lifelong resident of Clay County. She worked at Higgins Slacks for several years as the Quality Control and Assurance manager, but primarily was a Stay at home Mother and wife. Mrs. McCollum enjoyed cooking, gardening with her husband, and canning her vegetables. For 12 years, Mrs. McCollum and her husband, Joe Neal, would travel to festivals selling and demonstrating Flint Napping, or Stone Artifacts, to hundreds of people. They traveled all over the South and Ohio, and as Joe Neal would demonstrate, she would run the booth. She was a people person and never met a stranger, and was a happy, joyous, and faithful Wife and Mother to her family.
Mrs. McCollum is survived by her husband of 32 years, Joe Neal McCollum of Lineville; two daughters: Lesa Denham of Dallas, TX and Beth Dean Jacobs (Jake) of Phenix City; her son, Ron McCollum (Paula) of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren: Miranda Riley (John), Adam McCollum, Justin Dean (Brittany), and Brandi Denham; eight Great-grandchildren; two brothers: Steve Robertson (Charlotte) of Montgomery and Ronald Robertson (Kay), of Lineville; her Grandaughter in love, Jayme Graben (Adam) of Lineville, and two special great-grandchildren: Seth and Ella Graben, plus a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Felix Carl and Esther Faye Sims Robertson.
Justin Dean, Adam Graben, Jonathan Robertson, Adam McCollum, and Matt Britton will serve as pallbearers.
Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 11:30 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
