  Brenda Lucille Mooneyham Boyd, age 77, passed away Monday June 19, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Hospital.  Brenda was a Van Buren County native born on September 6, 1945 to the late Jessie Clay and Flora Elene Roberts Mooneyham. Brenda and her husband Paul Anthony operated two restaurants in McMinnville, the Waffle & Rib Shack, and The Cream Machine in Three Star Mall.  Brenda also worked for many years at NHC as a CNA.  She enjoyed being with her loving family, reading her bible and listening to gospel music and gospel television programs. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Paul Anthony Boyd, son; Paul Anthony Boyd II, daughter; Deirdra Boyd Dodson, brothers; Ted and Clayton Mooneyham. sisters; Alma (Lloyd) Burgess, Helen Brock, and Jessie Rambo, brother-in-law; Donald Boyd, sister-in-law; Marilyn Haston.

Brenda is survived by her loving family, daughter; Paula (Kevin) Madewell of Spencer, brothers; Phillip (Valarie) Mooneyham of McMinnville, Wendell (Marilyn) Mooneyham of Cookeville, sisters; Wanda Phifer of Cookeville, and Cynthia (Doug) Cantrell of Cookeville, brother-in-laws; Sam Brock, Bruce (Babs) Boyd of McMinnville, sister-in-law; Jo Boyd of McMinnville, grandchildren; Jessica, Tony, Celia, Maley, Kyler, Kevin Jr., Austin, Aften, Leah, Jamie, and Luke.  Many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family also survive.

Graveside services will be held Thursday June 22, 2023 at 2:00pm in Bascom Cemetery in Warren County.  Kyler Boyd will officiate the service. A visitation will be held Thursday 11:00am to 1:00pm at Layne Funeral Home in Spencer.
