  Brenda Kay Betts, 67, resident of the Martintown Community, departed this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her residence.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Betts will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2PM, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from 10AM until time of service. There will be a private family burial at a later date.

Born, May 5, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Oweda Smith Walls.  Mrs. Betts received her education from the Ecru Public School System and was a graduate of Itawamba Community College with a degree in Computer Technology.  She was a valued employee at Wal-Mart, where she was elected employee of the month numerous times.

A Christian, Mrs. Betts will be remembered for her fun-loving kind heart, her contagious laugh and her giving spirit.  Some of her past times included riding horses, country dancing, watching horror movies, cooking the best chicken and dumplings and tending to her many cats that was her pride and joy.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 28 years, Steve Betts, four daughters, Pam Robertson of Ecru, Donna Woods of Okolona, Vicky Barnes of Nettleton and Shaunda Betts of Memphis, one son, Joseph Betts (Danica) of Tuscaloosa, AL, thirteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Chris Hamblin, four sisters, Janet Thomas, Debbie Patterson, Patricia Berry, Peggy Vanmeter, and one brother, Thomas Wayne Walls.
