Brenda Joyce Gamble, 71, lovingly known by her family as “Noot,” died Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Tupelo. She was born March 1, 1953, in Pine Grove Community south of Shannon, MS. She was born to the marital union of James Homer Gamble and Ella Ivory. She worked many years as a glue technician employed by Hickory Springs Bedding Company before her health failed. Her hobbies included cooking, fishing, and growing flowers. She loved her family unconditionally and loved her dogs. She was a lifelong member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her church family.

Survivors include her step-mother, Jessie Gamble of Tupelo; 4 sons, Dexter Gamble, Ray Rogers, and Terry Rogers, all of Shannon, and Carlos Rogers of Verona; 3 brothers, James Gamble of Grand Rapids, MI, John Rogers, Jr. (Joyce) of Houston, MS, and Thomas Rogers of Houston, MS; 5 sisters, Kay Whiteside (Robert) of Chesterville Community, Joyce Clopton (Cornelius) of Nettleton, Evonne Rogers, Diane Willis, and Elaine Gladney (George), all of Houston, MS; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles Gamble and Michael Rogers.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. The wake will be held Friday evening, July 5, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM at the funeral home.
