Brenda Jo Malone, 82, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the NMMC Nursing Home in Pontotoc. She was born October 16, 1942 in Thaxton, MS to the late Woodrow and Luna Mae Self. She graduated from Thaxton High School and Droughns Business College in Memphis, TN. After college she married Namon Malone, Jr. on December 23,1960. They lived in Clarksdale, MS, where she worked at the Delta Farm Press until it’s closure. Then she began working in the Judicial System in Clarksdale then later in Pontotoc. Before her retirement, she worked at the downtown post office in Pontotoc for six years.
Services will be at 2:00PM Monday, March 31, 2025 at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Michael Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in the Thaxton Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors, daughter, Kelly McLaughlin; son, Todd Malone; grandsons, Brad and C.J. McLaughlin; granddaughters, Bianca Sterling (Alex) and Jodie McGregory (Victor); great granddaughters, Jaden Keith, Maddie Keith, Delta Wilson and Faye and June Sterling.
Preceded in death by, husband, Namon Malone, Jr.; daughter, Melanie Keith; grandchildren, John Keith, Jeanie and Joshua Holm.
Pallbearers, Brad McLaughlin, C.J. McLaughlin, Coach Billy Davis and Scotty May.
Visitation; Sunday 5-8pm and noon until 2:00pm Monday, March 31, 2025.
