Brenda Gayle Blakely Owens, 74 of Athens, passed away Sun. June 20th, 2021 at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Mrs. Owens was born Feb. 14, 1947 in Limestone County to James C Blakely and Jewel Toone Blakely. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Kenneth Owens.
Survivors include her daughter Sabrina Bates (Danny) of Athens; son Trevor Owens (Wendy) of Athens; brothers Clifton Blakely (Peggy) of Athens and Mike Blakely of Athens; grandchildren Trey Owens, Scarlett Owens and Lucas Bates; step-grandchild Daniel Bates (Amy); great-grandchild Wesley Anne Nicole Owens; and step great-granchildren Curt Bates and Bryleigh Bates.
Mrs. Owens retired from TVA, where she worked at the Brownsferry Nuclear Plant. She was also a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Mike Blakely and Steve Klein officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 – 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trey Owens, Lucas Bates, Danny Craig, Andy Blakely, James Blakely and Danny Blakely.
