Brenda Faye Nelson, age 63, of Tuscumbia died April 1, 2013. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Copeland Cemetery in Athens with Terry Howard officiating.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Moulton, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Rachel Bates; brother, James Franklin Bates; and sister, Jane Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Sanders; brothers, Gerald Bates, Donald Edward Bates, George Ronald Bates, and Samuel Bruce Bates; sister, Wanda Jean Bates; and grandchildren, Blake Sanders and Moriah Sanders.
