Brenda Carol Slaughter, age 58, passed away March 22, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Jackson, TN September 13, 1964, daughter of Hattie Ann Hardin Taylor and the late Billy Jack Taylor. She grew up in Hardeman County and was a 1982 graduate of Bolivar Central High School.
She married Nathan Slaughter on May 6, 1995, after several years of courtship. They made their home in the Deanburg community. Mr. Slaughter preceded her in death in 2005.
She worked at Kilgore in Toone, TN just out of high school for about 20 years. She then worked at Master Slack Garment Factory for a time then ICE USA, Inc. as a shipping clerk. For the last 15 years she has worked for Walmart in South Jackson.
She loved her grandchildren and spent much of her time playing with them. She also loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed thrift shopping and taking care of her cat, Callie.
She is survived by her mother, Hattie Taylor of Medon, TN; son, Nick Slaughter (Brandi) of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Celeste Slaughter (Austin Cain) of Pinson, TN and Krystal Charboneau of Gatlinburg, TN; sister, Debbie King (Richard) of Medon, TN; six grandchildren and close family friend, Bubba Breeden of Medon, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Slaughter; father, Billy Jack Taylor; and son, Brandon Christopher Taylor.
Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday March 29, 2023, at New Union Baptist Church in Medon, TN.
