Funeral service for Bradley Allen Prater, 30, of Decatur will be Monday, February 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Earl Mills Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service. Entombment will be in Roselawn Mausoleum.
Mr. Prater, who died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, was born August 21, 1982, in Guntersville to Carl Lynn Prater and Janice Rena Cowen Prater. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Danny Kell Lane. He was a graduate of Austin High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by two children, Ethan Bradley Prater and Lana Prater, both of Decatur; his mother, Janice Cowen Lane Mills (James E.) of Decatur; two brothers, Jeffrey Prater of Decatur and Keith Shannon Thomas of Boaz; one sister, Jessica Brown of Danville; and two nephews, Dakota Brown and Kurtis Brown, both of Danville.
Pallbearers will be Keith Shannon Thomas, Aaron Lynch, Jeffrey Prater, Phillip Prater, Dakota Brown and Kurtis Brown.
