Funeral service for Boyd Dwight Hill, Sr., age 86, of Monroe, WA (formerly of Trinity, AL) will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Hill, who died September 26, 2024, in Washington, was born May 4, 1938, in Trinity, AL to Lonnie and Bessie Hill.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Johnson; sisters, Royce Ann Bowling, Vergil Stegal, and Fay Morris; brothers, Voyatt Hill and Lonnie Gordon Hill; and granddaughter, Amanda Goodwin Hall.

Mr. Hill faithfully served as a pastor of the Church of the Nazartene for over 20 years.  He was an ordained elder in 1976-1977.  He was instrumental in overseeing the building of Huguley Church of the Nazarene’s sanctuary in Lanett, AL.  He worked in Carthage, TN as a tax preparer, Lane Funeral Homes, and was a security guard at Health South Rehab.  He was always such a hard worker and took his jobs seriously.  Boyd had a charming personality and could carry on a conversation with anyone, even people he didn’t know.  Boyd was an avid Alabama football fan.  He loved spending time with his beloved family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hill; son, Boyd Dwight Hill, Jr.; daughters, Rhonda Stillwell (Edmond), Shelia Hemphill (Doug), and Janet Jones; brother, Rayburn Butch Hill; grandchildren, Christy Peluso (Gabe), Jackie Culp, Stephanie Chan (Albert), Chelsey Jones (Nick), Gatlin Hill, Jake Jones, and Jordin Jones; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Peluso (Lindsay), Olivia Peluso, Kaleb Hall, Kyli Hall, McKenzie Long, Ava Chan, Jason Jones, Daniel Jones, KayLeigh Rose Jones, Landon Jones, Mayson Jones, and Millie Rose Jones.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Michael Peluso, III, Kaleb Daniel Hall, Daniel Hall, Eric Hill, Doug Hemphill, Dwight Hill, and Gabe Peluso, II.  Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Chan, Edmond Stillwell, Gatlin Hill, and Nick Jones.
