Funeral service for Boyce G. Holt, 84, will be Monday, December 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Holt died on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Central Baptist Hospital in Kentucky. He was born July 20, 1938, in Morgan County, to Oceola “Ocey” Holt and Ovada Betterton Holt.
As a child, he would conduct wild scientific experiments out in the country. He was a lover of nature and Geology, the sciences, and History. He worked for AT&T from 1960 until the late 1980’s, then went to Coca Cola. He lived in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky at this time from 1972 until 1992, then Lakeside Park, Kentucky and Georgetown, Kentucky from 1992 until 2018. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 until 1960, serving in Korea, Japan, and Scotland, where he met his wife to be Jean Mcleish Franks.
He became the ultimate family man and was dearly loved by his family in Alabama, Canada and in Scotland. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to reach out to anyone in need. He was kind, a lover of animals, enjoyed camping and hiking and was the type of selfless man that made his family proud. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Kyle Holt and Thomas Holt.
