Booker T. Coleman born on June 14, 1949 to the late Annie M. Coleman and James Vaughn. Booker T gained his heavenly wings on August 4, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital.
He was preceded in death by six sisters: Mary Francis McDonald, Willie Dee Shoemaker, Helen Douglas, Irene Lee, Katherine Williams, and Elnora Burruss.
Booker attended both William Hooper Council High and Butler High School.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Union Hill CP Church under the leadership of the late Reverend McKinnley Jones. He was an active member of Madkins Chapel CPCA until his health declined, which he joined under the leadership of the late Reverend Endia J. Scruggs.
Booker loved watching all sports and collecting elephant figurines. He played and coached baseball and softball. He was a number one fan of Vincent. He attended all the games which everyone would know he was there when he hollered “YEAH” followed by a loud clap. He loved and enjoyed being around family.
He leaves two sons: Vincent (Chrissy) Coleman and Marcus (Klonda) Coleman each of Huntsville, AL; five grandsons: Tyrese, Tyrone, Tyson, Andrew, and Quinton; one granddaughter: Naomi; two brothers-in-law: Willie Burruss of Huntsville, AL, and Willie James Lee of Cleveland, OH; a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins; and long time special friends, Billy Ray Matthews and Jessie Leamon.
Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Jenard Garner officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
