Bonnie Sims, age 86, of Guntersville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Bolding and Patti (Randy) Dorsett; grandchildren, Andy Dorsett, Ashley (Timmy) Sims, and Amanda (Brien) Floyd; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Ray (Charlotte) Oliver and Michael Lynn (Susan) Oliver. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Sims; her parents, I. L. and Willie Mae Oliver; granddaughter, Leah Paige Dorsett; and brother, Larry Oliver. A devoted member of Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church, Bonnie was cherished for her deep love of family. She was a long-time business owner of Sims Blinds in the city of Albertville.
Visitation will be at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 5pm-8pm. A funeral will be on Saturday at Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church at 11am. She will lie in state at the church from 10am-11am. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Reeves, Rev. Joel Sims, and Rev. Randy Dorsett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Andy Dorsett, Tanner Dorsett, Timmy Sims, Brien Floyd, Layken Floyd, and Andrew Hard.
