Bonnie Ruth Harrison, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Born on September 13, 1932, in Horton, AL. to the late Eldrid and Emma Jones. Bonnie eloped and married her sweetheart Pete in 1951. She spent most of her adult life in Marietta, GA, where she was a dedicated homemaker and volunteer at the American Legion. Later, she pursued a career as a beautician and then worked at Lockheed Martin for many years. Bonnie and Pete retired to the Whitesboro Community near Sardis, Alabama. Bonnie had a passion for gardening and cooking in her past time. She was a devoted churchgoer and proud member of The Whitesboro Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Earnest “Pete” Harrison, son Wayne Harrison, and siblings Max Jones, Charles Jones, English Jones, and Myra Een.
Bonnie is survived by her sisters, Barbara Jones, Deborah Jarvis (Jarad Jarvis); daughter, Patricia Strickland (Darrel Strickland); sons, Craig Harrison (Lisa Harrison) and Kent Harrison; daughter-in-law, Connie Harrison.
Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren who affectionately knew Bonnie as “Ganna”, Andrew Wright (Jessica Wright), Gregory Strickland, Michael Harrison (Natalie Harrison), Morgan Scissel (Anthony Scissel), Melissa Lucas (Michael Lucas), Shane Harrison (Joseph Harrison), and Samantha Cleckler (Robert Cleckler); 15 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home prior to the graveside on Sunday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
The pallbearers will include; Andy Wright, Greg Strickland, Michael Harrison, Shane Harrison, Joseph Peters, Bobby Cleckler, Anthony Scissel, and Michael Lucas.
