Bonnie Pearline Roberson Derrick, 82, resident of Ashland fought the good fight and finished her race on this earth, Monday Morning January 29, 2024 at the Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral Service honoring the life of Mrs. Bonnie will be 1 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Ashland Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be 11 AM until Service Time on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.

Born February 4, 1942 in New Albany, Mrs. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Roy Larson and Idabell Wammack Roberson. She received her education from the Ashland Public School System and was employed with the Benton County Health Department for thirty years serving as an office manager. During her time working with the Health Department, she met many people and often times offered comfort and wisdom to some of the young ladies that came through the doors. She was always looking out for people and never missed the opportunity to help anyone in any way possible.

A Christian and member of Ashland Baptist Church, Mrs. Bonnie’s favorite pastimes included horseback riding in her earlier years, tending to her flower garden, singing and dancing, arts and crafts, and vacations to the beach. Her home was always open to others, and she was very well known in her community as a dear friend and thoughtful neighbor. She had a strong love for her dogs, T. J. and Shelby, as they were very protective over her. Mrs. Bonnie lived a good full life and although our loss is great, we know our God is Greater. Well done good and faithful servant.

Those left to cherish her memories include one daughter, Penny Campbell (Clay), one son, James Derrick (Charlotte), three brothers, Ray Roberson (Karen), Mickey Roberson (Margaret), and Terry Roberson (Terri), four grandchildren, Derrick Campbell (Kristy), Cooper Campbell, Cameron Derrick, and Jamie Hanskiewicz, and four great grandchildren, Joni, Eliah, Naima, and Jonah.

She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Derrick, one sister, Christine Gadd, and two brothers, Darrell Roberson and Pearl Roberson.

The family would like to give a special thanks the staff of Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving nature and gentle care shown to them and their mother.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Mrs. Bonnie’s family.
