Bonnie Joy Thomas, age 74, passed away at home on April 13, 2024. Bonnie was born
to Roy M. Thomas and Avis (Hill) Thomas on March 13, 1950, in Huntsville, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Charlotte Medley, and brother Terry
Thomas.
She is survived by her partner of 37 years, Cheryl Banks of the home, a brother,
Stanley (Nancy) Thomas, two nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Nolan and Tonya Medley, a
nephew Steve Thomas, and a great-niece Kayra Medley, as well as a host of family and
great friends especially Jackie and Tina Huskey.
During her lifetime Bonnie earned a Bachelor of Science from Athens State. She spent
her career working in the communications field, retiring from Quadrum. Bonnie’s one goal was to have fun and enjoy life which she did to the fullest. She especially loved her Auburn Tigers, camping,and fishing.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley and Amedisys,
especially nurses Kaylie and Heather.
Bonnie will be laid to rest Thursday, April 18, 2024, during a graveside service at 2:00
p.m. at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan City, AL. Funeral arrangements were made
through Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
