Bonnie Golos Couch Carnathan was born in Elmira, New York on April 15,1940, the daughter of the late Edwin Golos and Dorothy Golos Clark. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Union University. Mrs. Carnathan was a loving mother, care giver, animal lover and role model. She was an educator, a school administration assistant and a businesswoman in a regional supervisory role.

Mrs. Carnathan went to be with Jesus on August 29, 2024. In her later years, Mrs. Carnathan was an avid volunteer focusing her efforts on making the lives of the most vulnerable in her community better by giving love and hope to many. She was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church when she was residing in Jackson, TN, and later attended a non-denomination church in Plantersville, Mississippi. She returned to Jackson in June of 2022.

In addition to her own four boys, she was the mother of many foster children in West Tennessee for over a decade. She volunteered for her local community hospital, the Civitan Club, the National Park Service, Society for the Blind, Meals on Wheels, and sheltered many different types of animals on her farm.

She is survived by her brother, Terry Clark (Cynthia), and sons, Ed Couch (Vina) of Dayton, TN, Alan Couch (Carolyn) of Medon, TN, Andrew Couch (Christine) of McKinney, Texas, and Terry Couch (Lisa) of Scottsboro, AL ; eight grandchildren, Nathan Couch, Audrey Geisel, Ashley Commander, Patrick Love, Brianna Couch, Zachary Couch, Jaimie Couch, and Jet Oscar Tulio; seven great-grandchildren, Lilliana Love, Roman Love, Grace Geisel, Silas Geisel, Lucy Commander, Ethan Josh Tulio, and Sophie Noelle Tulio. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marlin Carnathan, her sister Edwina Golos, and grandson Garrett Love.

Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo, Mississippi will be handling Mrs. Carnathan’s final arrangements, and a graveside celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Monday September 2, 2024, at Lee Memorial Park (5257 Raymond Avenue, Tupelo, Mississippi 38801). Friends and family are invited. Holland Funeral Directors – Tupelo Chapel is honored to serve the family.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the school system charity of your choice.
