Bonnie Christine Kitchekeg, 78, departed this life Saturday August 3, 2024, at Oxford Health and Rehabilitaion Center following an extended illness.

A private service will be held at a later date. New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care will be handling all arrangements.

Mrs. Bonnie was born May 23, 1945, in Chicago, IL, to the late Jacob Christian and Wanda Angeline Wlodarska Hohn. She received her education from Foreman High School in Chicago and was a kindhearted soul, helping others and working as a caregiver as long as her health permitted.

A Christian, Mrs. Bonnie was a very independent woman who was very outspoken, always saying what she thought and how she felt. She had a radiant personality that just drew people near her, as she was quite the “people person” and loved socializing and making new friends. Her favorite pastimes included listening to gospel music and arts and crafts. She was a very talented artist, and was known for her charcoal drawings, which lead her to a first-place prize in the state fair one year. Mrs. Bonnie’s life was fully devoted to caring for others, making everlasting memories, and showing love to everyone. The world is a better place because of her and although her light has dimmed, it will always continue to shine through us.

Those left to cherish her legacy include two daughters, Dawn Kitchekeg, and Raylene Gray (Dee), four sons, Kelly Kitchekeg (Cathy), Ken Whitt, Patrick Whitt, and Keith Whitt, seven grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

She is also preceded in death by one grandchild, Jason Kitchekeg, and her husband, Kelly Whitt.

New Albany Funeral & Cremation Care invites you to share memories with Mrs. Bonnie’s family.
