Obituary of Bonell Gulley It is with great sadness that the family of Bonell (Bonnie) Garrett Gulley announces her passing on November 4th,2024.

Bonnie was born on December 11th, 1934, in Murphy, North Carolina and passed away at age 89 after a long and fruitful life while graciously and courageously suffering from Lewy Body Dementia in her later years. She will be remembered by her many friends and family as a kind, compassionate, loyal and faithful Christian servant.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Jimmy Ray Gulley; her parents Polly and Posey Garrett and sisters Topsy (Willa Belle) Pope and Helen Garrett Eller.

Bonnie and Jimmy were married on May 14th, 1966 and settled down in Huntsville where they resided for over four decades. They were long-time loyal and pro-active members of Huntsville City Church (formerly Mastin Lake Road Church of Church of God of Prophesy).

In 2014, due to her deteriorating health, Bonnie was admitted to Terra Bella Memory Care Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina where she made many friends and was extremely well cared for.

The family wishes to sincerely acknowledge the staff at Terra Bella Memory Care Center that provided outstanding comfort and care for the last ten years until Mrs. Gulley’s passing. In addition, members of Crescent Hospice of Rock Hill, S.C. recently stepped in as her dedicated care team providing vital support in Bonnie’s last days. Rosetta Young of Charlotte was also by Bonnie’s side for the entire ten years that she resided at Terra Bella providing additional care, comfort and support.

Surviving is her Sister-in-law Carolyn Gulley; Nieces Deborah Eller Snyder, Lavonda Gulley Curtis, Lori Gulley Thompson; Nephews, Michael Edward Eller, Stanley Gulley, Stephen Gulley, and Richard Warren as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews on both sides of her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Huntsville City Church, 2713 Mastin Lake Road, Huntsville, Alabama, 35801.

Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama on Monday November 11th with Pastor Leslie Curtis officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. in the Serenity Room. The graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
