Bobo Hand, 51, of Gurley passed away Saturday at a local hospital. Bobo was a graduate of UAH and was employed with Jacobs Engineering as an Electrical Engineer where he was sub-contracted to NASA and The Marshall Space Flight Center, having worked on the International Space Station and receiving the Silver Snoopy Award from the astronauts. Prior to that he worked for TeledyneBrown Engineering on the CGF project. He was a loving husband and father and devoted family man who loved and cherished his friends. He was also an avid Alabama fan. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Violet Hand Survivors include his wife: Yvonne Hand; one son: Logan Bobo Hand; one daughter: Savannah Joy Hand; his brother: Barry (Joann) Hand and two sisters: Melissa Whittaker and Babbette (Neal) Sparks. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Maysville Church of Christ followed by a church service Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Tim Orbison officiating. Burial will follow in Stateline Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Logan and Savannah Hand Scholarship Fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union.
