Bobby Ray Hill was born November 04, 1943 in Lawrence County Tennessee to the late John and Lillie Mae Ray Hill. Mr. Bobby was of the Baptist Faith and attended 48 Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He worked as an owner and operator as a truck driver for over 55 years. In his free time, he loved to be on the water fishing or watching boat races. He was an avid football fan especially when the Steelers where playing. He will be remembered for keeping the cars washed at all times. Perhaps his greatest joy came on Friday mornings when he picked up the great grandkids, Breece and Brayton. Mr. Hill departed this life on February 13, 2025 making his stay in this life 81 years, 3 months, and 10 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wanda Hill of Waynesboro, TN; one daughter, Vonda Roberts of Rossville, GA; two step-children, Angela Duren and husband Michael of Waynesboro, TN; Steve Staggs and wife Paula of Collinwood, TN; three brothers, Paulie Hill of Leoma, TN; Lewis Hill and wife Nancy; David Hill and wife Deborah both of Lawrenceburg, TN; three sisters, Bertie McGee of Lawrenceburg, TN; Wanda Boyd of Savannah, TN; Deloris Stooksberry of Leoma, TN; one grandson, Brandon Roberts and wife Brandi of Leoma, TN; four step grandchildren, J.T. Staggs of Savannah, TN; Nathan Duren; Chad Duren both of Waynesboro, TN; Harley Staggs of Collinwood, TN; He is also survived by his two great grandchildren, Breece and Brayton Roberts.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Hill; an infant son, Timothy Ray Hill; one brother, Tommy Hill; his son-in-law, Randy Roberts and his brother-in-law George McGee.
Visitation with the Hill family will be on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 12:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel with Tim Hanback officiating. Interment will follow in the Gallaher Cemetery.
