Bobby Ray Fite, 82, lifelong resident and farmer of the Williamsport Community, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Christine Penner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born December 27, 1935 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Raymond Edward Fite and the late Alice Morrow Fite. He was a 1953 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Army National Guard for 6 years. For 31 years, Mr. Fite worked at Monsanto Chemical Company as a control room operator. He enjoyed reading his bible, quail hunting and fishing with his granddaughters. Mr. Fite was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, former member of the Mt. Nebo Cemetery board, and longtime member of the Columbia Elks Lodge #686.
Survivors include his wife of 43 ½ years, Patricia Eddlemon Fite of Williamsport; daughter, Daphne (Lee) Sullivan of Columbia; son, Frank (Julie) Sullivan of Lewisburg; granddaughters, Ashley Jackson; Elizabeth (Richard) Covington; Hannah Sullivan; Sarah (Kyle) Burch; and Emma Sullivan; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Edward Fite.
Active pallbearers will be Harry Edwards, Royal Dickson, Jimmy Grimmett, Frank Thomas, Pat Prince, and Briggs Primm. Honorary pallbearers include former co-workers of Monsanto Chemical Company, and members of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church.
