Bobby R. Palmer was born March 27, 1941 to Reese Palmer and Estelle Wray Palmer. He was raised in Morgan County, Alabama and graduated from Falkville High School in the Class of ’59. He joined the Air Force in 1960.

He served in the Air Force on numerous in-state and overseas assignments and retired in 1983 as a Chief Master Sargeant (E9) from Eglin Air Force base in Florida. He loved and served his country with pride.

After retiring, he and his family moved back to Morgan County, where he took up farming as a hobby. He was married to Stella Jean (Anders) Palmer for almost 61 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Hartselle.

Bobby died at home on January 26, 2023 after being in and out of the hospital during 2022. He was happy to have been able to celebrate the holidays at home surrounded by family and friends.

The family would like to thank Mr. Paul Tucker and Ms. Alicia Roper for their support and care during his illness.

A “Come and Go” Celebration of Life will be held at the Palmer Farm (23 Palmer Loop, PVT Dr. Hartselle, AL) on February 4th from 1 pm to 4 pm. There will be a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Chaplain Davis and with full Air Force Honors.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Sisters: Wanda Daniel and Margaret Ann Palmer and Brothers: Charles and Pervis Palmer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Caring Place in Hartselle, to Comfort Care Hospice, the American Heart Association, or your favorite charity.
