Bobby Bodine Bobby Neal Bodine, 89 of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama. Bobby was born May 3, 1933, the fifth child of Perry Raymond Bodine and Clara Agnes Pesnell Bodine. He was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps on September 5, 1959, serving during the Korean War. In 1961 he opened Bodine Auto Parts in Huntsville which later expanded to become Bodine Truck Parts, working there until retirement. He loved fishing, spending time on the Tennessee River, and hosting fish fries for family and friends. After retirement, he enjoyed his garden and raising Senepol cows; he was instrumental in bringing the Senepol breed to Alabama. It was quite a sight to see the cows being unloaded from an airplane at Huntsville Airport, and Bobby loved to tell the story. He was a member of Monte Sano United Methodist Church, joining after moving to Owens Cross Roads. Before Sue got sick, they were active members in Eastern Star and Bobby was also a Mason. Many wonderful long-term friendships were formed during their time in Eastern Star. He was married to the late Sue Whitaker Bodine for 59 years at the time of her death January 11, 2015.

He is survived by his children: Patricia Gregory Bodine, Neil Bodine, his wife Kim, Perry Bodine, his wife Della, Susan Roney and Tina White; grandchildren: Heather Biddy (Jay), Ryan Bodine, Jeff Love (Silver), Tyler Bodine (Laurel), Lindsey Bodine, Sarah Grace White, Arin Roney (Eva), Cody Roney and Caitlin Roney; great grandchildren: Parker Davis, Harlee Davis, Dustin (Courtney) Love, Dakota Love, Daylon Love, Atha Bodine, Inez Bodine, Connor Bodine and Cooper Bodine; great great grandchildren: Dawson, Nevaeh and Ryan James; sister: Betty Griffin (Sam); host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Sue Bodine, siblings: Perry Sanford Bodine, Kenneth Bodine, Thomas Bodine and Nelson Bodine.

The Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at New Brashier’s Chapel United Methodist Church with John Mullaney officiating. Burial will be in Brashier’s Chapel Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at New Brashier’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
