Mr. Bobby Nathaniel Morton, 76, resident of Ripley, MS, departed this life peacefully Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
A Graveside Service, with full military honors, will be held at 11 AM Tuesday October 22, 2024, in the Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday October 21, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home.
Born June 27, 1948, in the Canaan Community near Ashland, MS, Mr. Bobby was the son of the late Nathaniel Bouton and Annie Lee Rogers Morton. He received his education from Ashland High School and volunteered proudly, serving his country in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Bobby was a Christan and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who worked as a custodian for many years with the church until his retirement.
A Mason, Mr. Bobby’s favorite pastimes included hunting, motorcycles, watching Andy Griffith all day, every day, and being surrounded by his family and grandchildren, who he loved to spoil. He was a purpose filled man and community leader, whose mission in life was letting the Lord shine through him always. Mr. Bobby’s easy-going spirit, love of service to his fellowman, and devotion to his Lord, family, friends, and community will long be remembered by all those whose life he touched most.
Those left to cherish his legacy include two daughters, Moriah Williams (James Cox), and Esther Racz (Roger), two sons, Brandon Morton (Michelle), and Troy Morton (Brenda), two brothers, David Morton (Marsha), and Terry Lee Morton (Susie), twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, a special neighbor, Joy Rainey, and a special friend Ruth Derrick.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bobby is also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Luna Morton, one grandson, Damon Morton, three sisters, and two brothers.
