Bobby Lee Beene, 85 departed this life at his home on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 in Nashville, TN. Bobby was born June 2, 1939 in Baldwyn, Mississippi to Nannie Tate and Artis Beene, Sr.
Bobby received his education in Prentiss County Mississippi and was a high school graduate of Wick Anderson High School in Booneville, Mississippi. Bobby married the love of his life Martha Helen Fields in Baldwyn, Mississippi on September 28, 1961 and to that union five sons were born. Bobby loved and cared for Martha with everything in him until her death in July 2023.
Bobby professed his love for Christ at an early age where he was a long-time member of New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Baldwyn, Mississippi before moving to Nashville, TN in the late 1960’s. Once moving to Nashville, he was a dedicated and faithful member of Boyce Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board and affectionately known to all as “Deacon Beene”.
In the early 1980’s Bobby started his employment at GAF Fiberglass as a BCO Maintenance Tech and remained with the company until he retired in 2010. He loved to fish, spending quality time with his family and friends and a faithful Mason of Prince Hall.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Nannie Tate and Artis Beene Sr.; sons, Mark Beene, Bobby Beene, Donnie Beene and George Beene; brothers M.C. Tate-Marshall, James Tate, Leroy Tate, Robert-Earl Tate, Artis Beene Jr., Arzo Beene, O’Ale Beene and sister Belle Zora Beene.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son Darrell Beene of Mountain City, TN; Sister Mildred Billups of Baldwyn, MS; Brother Ollie Lee Beene of Baldwyn, MS; Grandchildren Markia Beene, Cortez Law, Chrisopher Hendrix, Kristen Hendrix, Jonathan Matthews and Eric Harrison all of Nashville, TN. Daughter-in-laws Glenda Beene and Paula Beene both of Nashville, TN; Dedicated Great-Neice Kenetha Boyd of Nashville, TN; Devoted friends Darnell Anderson and Darrell Wilkes along with a host of great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
