Bobby Joe Hurley, 54 of Dora, passed away March 21, 2023 at Princeton Hospital.
Bobby had a heart as big as the ocean. He loved hot rods, fast cars and Vintage pickup trucks. He was a Certified welder and also had a culinary license. There was no one he wouldn’t help. He would give them the shirt off his back. He could sell and negotiate anything. He loved watching and playing with his grandkids. He wanted to see the world and loved to travel. He loved telling stories of his childhood and being with family anytime. He loved playing cards with friends and would always say he was broke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Hurley; grandparents, Edith and Walter Hurley; mother and father-in-law, Caroll and Billie Holley; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Coolidge and Rickey Chadwick; sister-in-law, Diane Tidwell; special friend, Connie Hamby and bonus child, Kai Russell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Jimmie Sue Hurley; daughters, Shae and Kati (Sarah); grandchildren, Kyliee, Christopher “Little Man” and Kristen “Little Bit”; sisters, Theresa Coolidge; Misty Rector (Kevin); nieces, Jackie Jackson (Tony), Mindy Miller Chelsea (Scottland); great niece and nephew, Tyler and Hazel McKinnon; brother-in-law, Terry Tidwell (Crystal); a host of other special friends and family along with lifelong friends, Willowdean Chadwick (Pat) and Shem Steadham.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 25, 23 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tyler Keene officiating. Burial will follow at Wells Celestial Gardens in Sumiton. Visitation is Saturday from 1-2 p.m.
