Bobby Joe Hughes, 83, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 02, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at Union Hill Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Hood officiating.
Born on September 12, 1939 to JT and Valdia Wertenberger Hughes, Bobby loved his family, Alabama football, camping, bluegrass music, and good food.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Ruth Hughes and his beloved dog Youngen; children, Robert Hughes, Donald Hughes, Tonya (Glenn) Belk, Darlene (Renee) Hughes, Joe Ann (James) Whitehead; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Riddle, Jackie Carter; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, JT Hughes; mother, Valdia Hughes; brother, Jay Hughes; sister, Wanda Hughes; sister, Helen Crow; granddaughter, Paige Fielder; granddaughter, Samantha Huey; granddaughter, Malissa Webb; granddaughter, Wendy Webb.
Pallbearers will be Blake Curtis, Griffin Alexander, Greer Alexander, Ian Hughes, Jason Stricklin, Bobby Hyde, Nathan Fielder, Bradley Crow.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Belk and Blayne “Clem” Little .
