Bobby Joe Davidson, age 79, passed away Friday afternoon July 2, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital emergency room.
He was born in Henderson August 13, 1941, the son of the late Willard Leon and Gladys Whitman Davidson. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from Humes High School in 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines right out of high school and served 4 years.
While in the service he met his future wife Martha Baca Fuentes and they later married July 31, 1965. They made their home in Henderson. He worked as a welder, a truck driver for L & O Trucking and Eagle Warehouse; and also worked as a Sales Rep for Camper City in Memphis.
He loved his children and grandchildren. He especially loved taking them riding around to various places. They never knew where he might take them next.
He also loved sports especially his Memphis Tigers!
He is survived by his wife Martha Davidson; two daughters, Alizza Boehm (Danny) of Henderson and Sharon Kimes (Darrin) of Hebron, Indiana; two brothers, Don Davidson (Thelma) of Memphis and Garry White (Sarah) of Henderson; a very close cousin David Ezekiel and multiple other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Davidson and two brothers, Billy Davidson and Gordon Davidson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Shelly Hale officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Crook Avenue Chapel.
