Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Buttrum, age 77, will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 PM until 7 PM and Wednesday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Buttrum, a US Army veteran, member of the Helicopter Crew Chiefs Association and employee of Quaker Oats, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Plasant and Iva Buttrum; and two brothers, Fate Buttrum and James Bowman.
Mr. Buttrum is survived by his wife, Nintha May Buttrum; two daughters, Evelyn (Michael) DeSpain and Teresa (Isaac) Solis both of Jackson; a brother, Marvin (Sandy) Brown of Gadsden; and seven grandchildren, Hannah Lyons, Aidan DeSpain, Alice Harris, Lily Harris, Israel Solis, Alexia Solis and Austin Dew.
