Bobby J. Mays, age 89, of Lexington, TN passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at the NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Friday, July 28th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Pastor James Jett officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery on Dividing Ridge Road in Goodlettsville.
The family will receive friends from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mays was born June 24, 1934, in Decaturville, TN to the late Houston B. and Alpha Vera Mays. He was a Graduate of Goodlettsville High School Class of 1953. After graduation, Mr. Mays joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 9 years. He served as a Medical Technologist and held the rank of Sargent. During his time in the military, he was stationed in Alaska, Florida and South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mays was preceded in death by a brother, Houston Leroy Mays.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Evitts Mays; brother, Larry (Norma) Mays; and a sister, Betty Ann (Bruce) Gilmer.
