Bobby Harce Russell, age 80, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in Franklin County, Alabama, on September 11, 1942, he was the son of John Wilburn Russell and Lovie Rogers Russell. Bobby grew up in the Unity Community and graduated from Mantachie High School. He worked as a route salesman at Hardin’s Bakery for nine years before joining Frito-Lay where he retired after 35 years. Bobby attended Saltillo First United Methodist Church and also served as a Saltillo Alderman from 1981 until 1985. He loved being outdoors working in his garden and taking care of his yard. He took care to ensure his grandchildren were also taught the value and techniques of raising a garden. In his earlier years, he also spent time camping with his wife, Willene.

Bobby leaves behind two children, Marc Russell and wife, Paula, of the Unity Community and Karen Russell Andrews and husband, Mike, of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Blake Russell, Carrie Andrews Inghram and husband, Brandon, and Mason Andrews; two great-grandchildren, Ava Grace and Chase Russell Inghram; a brother, M.C. Russell and wife, Brenda of Unity; a sister, Eva Franks and husband, Tommy of the Shiloh Community; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Willene Franks Russell; two brothers, J.T. Russell and James Russell; and a sister, Geneva Brooks

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Pegues, Saltillo. A celebration of Bobby’s life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Brooks, Scottie Brooks, Brandon Inghram, Cary Russell, Blake Russell, and Mason Andrews.
