Bobby Glynn Bass, Sr. departed this life for his eternal home from his residence in the Valley Grove Community of Pontotoc County on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024. Bobby was 63 years old. A descendant of the pioneer Bass family in southeastern Pontotoc County, he was born in Tupelo on March 4, 1961 to the late Bobby Joe Bass and Janice Ann Wilder Bass, who survives. Bobby graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1979 and later received his AA Degree from ICC in Computer Science. A computer wiz, he was first employed by Central Service Association in Tupelo. He later worked several years at ITT in Corinth in computer operations. He worked for Baxter Company and Century Constuction before founding his own construction company and operating it until his health failed. He was never afraid of work and could do about anything with his hands which made him a master handyman. Bobby loved the outdoors, loved gardening, his plants and flowers. Always interested in space, he was always attentive to space exploration, comets, meteorites and planets beyond earth. He loved watching the sky at night. Bobby was a lifelong member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed all genres of music especially the harmonica. A traveler all his life, he enjoyed trips around the USA and Internationally with his parents and family earlier in life but had recently made two trips to Germany, a landscape he greatly admired.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 PM Friday, November 1, 2024, at Valley Grove Baptist Church with his pastor, Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial will follow in the Bass family plot at Valley Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 PM Friday at the church, located at 3282 Kings Highway, Tupelo, MS 38801. Bobby is survived by his mother, Janice Bass; a son, Bobby Glynn Bass, Jr.(Brandy Prewett Bass), and daughter, Anna Bass; a sister Alisa Bass Ferguson; 4 grandchildren, Channing, Kolby, Kaden and Elizabeth Katherine, all of Valley Grove; his nieces, Kristy Dowdy (Chris) and Kayla Cummings (Cody); great nieces and nephew, Adalyn, Audrey, Brylee Ann and Bentley; several cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Bass, and the mother of his children, Rebecca Pounders Bass, and his grandparents, Robert and Lillian McGraw Wilder and Noah Chester and Annie Louis Lann Bass.

Pallbearers will be Denver Hallman, Zack Hill, Aaron Olsen, Dakota Hallman, Chris Dowdy and Cody Cummings. Honorary pallbearers will be his 4 grandchildren.
