Bobby Glenn Clifton, age 82, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his residence. He was a native of Giles County, TN, and a 1958 Graduate of Lawrence County High School. He served his country honorably in the US Navy from 1958-1961 and worked for UPS for 29 years until retirement. He was a member of NCO, Elks Lodge 2206, VFW 1618, American Legion Post 146, and was a lifetime Universal Blood Donor with a record of over 25 gallons donated.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Duke and Ruth Chambliss Clifton; his wife of 56 years, Jan Mathis Clifton; two brothers, JD Clifton and Randall Clifton; and one sister-in-law, Martha Anne Kennedy.
He is survived by his daughter, Janna Clifton (Joey) of Florence, AL; his son, Dr. Bobby G. Clifton (Dr. Betsy Clifton) of Shelby, NC; six grandchildren, Mark A. Hendrix (Erin), Chambliss Roberts Howell (Josh), Hunt Mathis Roberts (Carrie), Will Clifton (Kristin), Braxton Clifton, and Victoria Clifton; his sister, Patricia Johnson; special nieces, Katrina Stroop and Randa Kennedy; and special friends Matt Johns, Rhonda Bedford Long, Jason Payne, Barbara Freeman, Tommy and Kristie Robbins, and Steve and Brittany Williams
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and inurnment will be conducted at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023, with Dr. Bobby Clifton officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Lawrence County Humane Society.
